When I got the CD from In Mitra
Medusa Inri, I had never heard of them, somehow. I
don't know why, because they've released 2 albums and
1 MCD. "Dreams" is their 3rd full
length album, and now they've been signed to Apollyon
Records, which is the same label as “The Last Dance” and
the legends “Ikon” are signed to.
In Mitra Medusa Inri is a Gothic/Darkwave
band from Germany that use a lot of electronic elements
in their music. The band consists of the two members,
Holger and Michael. In Mitra Medusa Inri has the right
sound, the vocals are dark and nicely done and the instrumentation
is brilliant with some noisy guitar riffs. You could compare
In Mitra Medusa's sound to something inbetween Deine Lakaien
and Clan Of Xymox, only the music is just harder with
poppy choruses that really keep the listener's attention.
"Dreams" is also full of pontiental
club hits such as "There Is No One Calling",
"Hear" , "The Truth"
and the title track, "Dreams".
In Mitra Medusa Inri has
made a good album where they take inspiration from the
Gothic Rock & the Electro Goth genres and blend them together.
"Dreams" is a nice and melodic
album where In Mitra Medusa Inri has written some good
and touching songs that show that the new generation of
Darkwave bands are so much better than the old stuff that
I'm so fed up with. I can only write that In Mitra Medusa
Inri has the right sound for today's Gothic scene, and
In Mitra Medusa Inri should be a band that has a bright
future waiting for them. Also worth noting is that "Dreams"
was produced by Thomas Elbern of the German band "Escape
With Romeo"
